Environmental Risk Management

To reduce the environmental impact and fulfill our corporate social responsibility, Emeren has made waste management an important environmental protection priority. We have clarified our management methods for waste water, waste gas and solid waste in the « Environmental protection management system ».

 

Biodiversity Protection

To protect wildlife, Emeren complies with all footling wildlife regulations. The company develops and implements a series of processes such as environment studies and surveys to investigate whether operations activities affect any wildlife and other natural resources on the land. Measures already taken include setting up bat boxes, nests and caves for wildlife.

Waste Recycling

Emeren actively reduces carbon footprint by adhering to the strictest environmental standards. The company encourages its employees and investors to participate in environmental protection and public welfare by saving paper through use of recycled packaging.

Vegetation Protection

Upon finishing the construction of any project, Emeren applies land-protection technology with vegetation and fence. The method of landscape design is consistent with the development of slope and ground protection.

Poverty Alleviation

Our vision is to provide clean, affordable and reliable power to all. Emeren has been partaking in Government Poverty Alleviation Projects since 2017, and has completed 23 MW Poverty Alleviation Projects, which help us bring electricity at lower costs for poorer regions, utilizing our own strength and value in eliminating absolute poverty.

Corporate Governance

Board of Directors

Emeren’s business is conducted under the supervision of our Board of Directors. The Board of Directors makes recommendations and conducts unbiased evaluation and supervision of management activities. It keeps its independence at all times. The Board comprises of five members, three of whom are independent from the company. The company’s Board of Directors continues to pay close attention to ESG and participates in the supervision of ESG practice, carefully reviewing the results of the Group’s important ESG issues, and providing references for corporate governance and risk management.

 

Internal Control & Compliance Management

In compliance with laws and regulations, Emeren builds a culture of integrity and anti-corruption, realizes process and data driven compliance management, and establishes a forward-looking, flexible, and efficient compliance system. All employees, risk management teams, and independent audit and legal compliance teams constitute as the « defensive lines » of the compliance system.
